Experience of NCC CATC Camp

 Jai Hind..

NCC camp is one of the best memorable and beautiful experiences I had in my NCC journey.

Our 10 days camp held from 25/11/2021  to 24/11/2021 at Shankaraghatta,Shimoga. There were nearly about 10 SDs and 15 SWs from our college. Overall there were about 450 cadets. All the cadets were divided into five groups / company -  Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Echo and in each company there were the senior leader who had a lot of responsibility to look after the each teams.

The day of the camp used to start at 5:30 a.m. where all the cadets had to assemble in the ground and then with the guidance of sabs we need to do some physical exercise, jogging and marching practice.

At 7:15 a.m.the much awaited breakfast was served, the vegetarian and non-vegetarian both the foods were  provided. The food quality was very good in the camp I was attended.  Then again we need to assemble at 8 a.m. after finishing our breakfast and we had a time gap of just 10 minutes to change the dress from tracks dress to NCC uniform.

From 8:30 till 1:00 when we had a practical classes were we learnt drill, weapon training, firing and so on. And at 10:30a.m. we also had a tea break. We also had theory classes where the sabs taught us many things related to NCC and things that are important to our NCC certificate exams.

From 1:00 to 2:30 we had the lunch break and this is the time were we got some free to do our works like washing clothes. And again the classes used to began at 2:30p.m till 6:00, and then again from 6:00 to 8:00 we were given the time to practice for the cultural events.

From 8:00p.m. we were given our dinner but since the hostels of SDs were nearly about 2 to 3 km from the mess, the SDs were given the food at beginning followed by SWs. So we used to reach at our rooms at 9:30 or 10 p.m. We even did not had no time to call our parents and talk with them, had no time to wash uniforms ,clothes. But we need to make our time and do all works.

At the end of the day we all assembled in the ground, danced, sangsongs, some cried, some laughed because it was the last day and end of the camp.

Time sense was the main thing I learnt from NCC camp, also learnt discipline ,teamwork and so many other things,Besides this I also got many friends from the camp.

And this would be a memorable days in my life.
